Casanoves Forest – El Querol

Itinerary and points of interest: Old road from Vic de Manresa, Casanoves Forest, the Three Oaks, Querol plain, farmers’ hut, dry-stone walls, L’Espina stream.

Description:
We leave the Plaça towards Carrer de Vic; there we will find the old road – the camí ral – which we follow and leave the cemetery to our left, until we arrive at the Casanoves Forest. We will find a metal gate which we need to pass, and at this point we leave the camí ral and continue to the right.

We go through the oak forest and at the end we will find the Three Oaks. We carry along the path through a field until we come across the path that comes from Cal Jordà towards l’Espina. We carry on along the path to the right and will arrive at the Querol plain, where we can see dry-stone walls and other points of interest such as the peasant farmers’ hut and the ice well on top of the ridge.
From the Querol plain we can see the village of Sant Cugat de Gavadons. Taking the first path off to the right that we find, we head downhill towards the L’Espina stream, and then head up towards the town, arriving at Carrer Major.
