Esplugues

We start the route from the Castellcir tourist information point, located in front of the Castellcir Local Social (Pl. Abat Escarré) and head towards the Quintana (a flat zone where there is currently a sports area). A few metres further on we arrive at the road, which we join to the left. 200 metres ahead we leave the road and join a dirt path which leads to the right (here we will find a marker indicating Esplugues).

Heading down the path, we will pass through Scots pine and oak forests until we arrive at the Fontscalents stream, and on the other side of the stream we will find the Esplugues masia. We will be able to appreciate the house underneath the rock ledge, the Romanesque bridge and visit the Moianès Ecomuseum centre.

We will return back the way we came. Alternatively, we could cross the bridge and return to the town along narrow paths, surrounded by fields.

Another highly recommended option is to leave the car at the Quintana car park and walk the route (30 minutes).
